Official event charity - Challenge
The official event charity is Challenge, which supports kids and families living with cancer. It is a holistic support program that looks after children under the age of 18 living with cancer and their families and provides free support to the children, their siblings and their parents - from camps and outdoor activities, in-hospital support, holiday accommodation and tickets to major events, to massage, art and music therapy.
Challenge has had a long association with golf since 1990 through the professional career of Challenge’s International Patron, Robert Allenby, and in more recent times with Challenge’s own Jarrod Lyle. As a Challenge member, Jarrod benefited from the services and programs delivered by the organisation and he became a much loved Challenge ambassador before his death in 2018.
